Salty Hour returns this weekend with the announcement of easing of lockdown restrictions to level 2! Here is what you need to know:

Cape Town Salty Hour is ON!

Salty Captain in CT, Brett "Spock" Sanderson, has been absolutely frothing to get back into the water with our Salties and with the announcement that beaches are now open again, he has wasted no time in scheduling the first Salty Hour session for this weekend, Saturday, 22 August 2020 - at 3 pm, Witsands.

Easing of Lockdown Regulations still comes with gatherings of more than 50 being prohibited. So this is how we will roll on Saturday:

  1. The session is limited to 50 (this includes surfers and beachgoers who are there purely for Salty Hour).

  2. Those that are not surfing / not in the water, please wear your mask (required by law).

  3. No physical contact out of the water.

  4. You may be required to fill out your name and contact number for tracing purposes.

Gonubie Salty Hour makes its return in September

Gonubie will resume Salty Hour from September (Spring). These sessions will take place on Saturday's at 3 pm to 4 pm. Join our Whatsapp Group for updates HERE.

Health and safety is priority

Now more than ever we need to be mindful, not only of our own health and safety but all those around us. Please at all times practice safe social distancing when out of the water.

If you have been in contact with anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19 or have any of the underlying co-morbidities that may put you at a higher risk - rather sit-out of attending Salty Hour sessions or any small gatherings for that matter. We must continue to protect the old and the vulnerable.

Brand new epic surfboards are waiting for all our Salties!

In case you missed it, we have some radical new boards that we get to start using for the first time!

EasyEquities (SA's leading and most affordable investment platform) has refurbished our old, and dying collection of soft-tops with 18 high quality, brand spanking new boards in partnership with South African surf brand RYD Brand.

Thank you to Penny and the RYD team in Cape Town for the quality boards and great advice on the variety of models available! We definitely got the right deal!
